Mark Alan Nienhueser

Mark Alan Nienhueser, 57, of Kansas City, Missouri died on Monday, April 19, 2010, at St. Joseph Health Center. Born Saturday, January 24, 1953 in Marshall, Missouri, he was the son of the late Willard Nienhueser and Doris Hacket. He was a lifelong entrepreneur of several businesses, and the self-employed owner at a restaurant lounge, retiring in 1994. He lived most of his life in Independence, Missouri and was of the Lutheran faith. He was so proud that he could still recite all the books of the Bible after learning them many years ago. Mark was a very private and independent person, a great host to family and friends. Being the oldest child, he was very protective of his brother and sister and was very close to his mother. Shortly after he received word that he had cancer, Mark received a surprise package in the mail-a handmade prayer shawl from the ladies prayer ministry of the United Methodist Church of El Dorado Springs, Missouri. He kept it in a special place in his home where he could always see it. The following are special memories from his sister Dawn. "It’s hard to put into words how much Mark has meant to me. He’s always been protective of me and was there for me no matter what the circumstance. He was respected in the community and was always gracious and polite to everyone he met. Mark was very meticulous in everything he did. It would be safe to say that he was a perfectionist. He dressed impeccably and he decorated his home beautifully. Mark and I shared a love for bargain shopping so I will always have fond memories of our shopping sprees. He loved the clearance aisle at Ace Hardware and we had to visit Kohls too. I will always cherish going to church with Mark. Our faith and God’s grace will help us get through this difficult time we have ahead of us. I adored Mark, I looked up to him, and I’m very proud that he was my brother." Surviving are his mother and step-father, Doris( Lee) Hinkle of Branson, Missouri; brother, Craig(Debbie) Nienhueser of Higginsville, Missouri; sister, Dawn( Don) Brooks of Kansas City. Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Hoefer Chapel, Higginsville, Pastors Jim & Patty Smith officiating and Patty Smith, organist and vocalist. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, Corder, MO Visitation one hour prior to service on Saturday with Memorial contributions to Odyssey Healthcare of Kansas City.
