Albert Semion Johnson

Albert Semion Johnson, 73 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Landmark Rehabilitation Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Born Friday, July 20, 1945 in Higginsville, he was the son of the late Albert Johnson and the late Magdalene Washington Johnson. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann Scott Johnson marrying August 8, 1975. She preceded him in death July 18, 1995. He attended Higginsville High School prior to joining the United States Army. He served as an SP5 (P), E-5 in the Army from 1968 until 1971. He was a Veteran of Vietnam and received decoration medals for National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Rifle M-14, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and one O/S Bar. He was trained as a medical Corpsman. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and a Deacon. After his military service he worked for Lake City Ammunition Plant and the Higginsville Habilitation Center before retiring. In retirement he enjoyed driving for Chameleon Wardrobe. Surviving are two sons, Mark Johnson of Grandview, MO and Dominic Johnson of Kansas City, MO; six daughters, Michelle Wade (Steve) of Independence, MO, Karen A. Johnson of Warrensburg, MO, Patricia Dawn Johnson of Moberly, MO, Brianna Johnson of Moberly, Amber Johnson of Moberly, and Andrea Johnson of Higginsville; one sister, Hazel Johnson of Higginsville. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Glon Johnson and Samuel Johnson; four brothers, Harold L. Johnson, Lucillious Johnson, Jerome Johnson and Randolph Johnson; two sisters, Daisy E. Foy and Vina Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tyrone Thirkield officiating; Helen Benton Harris, eulogist; and Evelyn Elmore, Diana Allen, Doris Graham as vocalists. Interment will follow the service in the Higginsville City Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Jesse Johnson, Tim Arndt, David Arndt Jr., Phillip Deatherage, Chris Johnson, Tisa Barefield. Honorary Bearers: Garrett Johnson, David Arndt Sr., Deacon Williams Sr. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday prior to the service.
