Delsine R. Fuehring

Delsine Rosalie (Hink) Fuehring, 86, of Higginsville, MO, passed away on December 15, 2022, at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO after a brief illness. She was born in rural Lafayette County near Alma, MO, on June 16, 1936, daughter of the late Ernest and Adela (Schmidt) Hink. Delsine was baptized June 28, 1936, and confirmed April 2, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alma, MO. She was valedictorian of the Alma High School class of 1954. She was united in marriage to Maurice G. Fuehring on January 16, 1965. Together, they were blessed with three children. Maurice preceded her in death on February 22, 2010. She worked for Dunbrooke Shirt Company, Ace Radio Control and in the cafeteria at Lafayette County C-1 High School. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed Bible study, volunteered with Lutheran Braille Workers, and served in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Priscilla Circle, the church choir, and numerous other roles over the years. Delsine was an avid reader and devoted Kansas City Royals fan - win or lose. She was a loyal friend and especially enjoyed coffee and laughs with her “Storm Sisters.” Even more, she loved her family and every opportunity to spend time together. Her infectious smile and sense of humor will be dearly missed. Surviving are three daughters, Susan (Scott) Ready of Blue Springs, MO, Pam (Royce) Coleman of Fenton, MO, and Debbie (Bill Ed) Huff of Springfield, MO; her grandchildren, Ethan Whan, Evan Whan and Hannah Whan; great-grandchildren, Derek and Dane Whan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son-in-law Dwight Whan, sisters Luella Merhhoff and Laverne Gruber, a brother Melvin Hink and a brother who was stillborn. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1501 Lipper Avenue, Higginsville, MO, with Pastor Kurt Brandon officiating and Donna Owens as organist. Interment will be in Higginsville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the service. Family suggests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church (sound system). Casketbearers are Eric Fuehring, David Gruber, Ken Gruber, Wendell Gruber, Rob Hink, Don Mehrhoff and Wes Mehrhoff.
