Dottie Mahnken

Dottie Marie Mahnken, 85 of Corder, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri. Dottie was born on Friday, December 23, 1938 in Corder to the late George W. Richey and Lillie (Heins) Richey. Dottie attended Corder High School. She was employed by the Higginsville Garment Factory as her first job, then Action Productions in Odessa, as well as the Space Craft Manufacturing in Concordia for a short time. She then worked for the Higginsville Habilitation Center until her retirement. In her free time, Dottie would cook meals at the Corder Lions Club meetings and for the annual Corder Picnic. Dottie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Higginsville. She enjoyed bible study and other church activities over the years. She loved to babysit her grandkids. Around the holidays sometimes she would host family gatherings and cook large meals. Family was important to her and she loved to cook for them. She wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of and fed. The absence of her presence will leave a void in the hearts of friends and family. Surviving are one daughter, Faye (Gary) Fricke of Corder; two sons, Paul (Tammie) Mahnken of Higginsville, David (Becky) Mahnken of Corder; two brothers, George D. Richey of the home, Earl (Carol) Richey of Warsaw, MO; fourteen grandchildren, Gennifer (Ryan) Petersen, Krystal Fricke (Joey Edwards), Gail (Jesse) Dunkle, Travis (Lindsey) Fricke, Chris DeVall, Steven Mahnken, Joe (Laura) Mahnken, Emily (Wyatt) Borgstadt, Ben Myrick, Brad (Allie) Myrick, Luke (Jennifer) Mahnken, Maria (Jake) Goetz, Zach (Tera) Mahnken, Abbie (Jake) Staton; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one great-niece and one great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jolene Hollis and a nephew, Troy Richey. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 1907 Peach St. Higginsville, with Rev. Dr. Greg Fine officiating. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Corder Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Cemetery.
