Larry Duvall

Larry Lee Duvall, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on October 25, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on September 12, 1943, in Independence, Missouri, Larry was the son of the late James Royle Duvall and Ethel Mae (Kendrick) Duvall. Larry graduated from Lexington High School in 1961 and began his career as a printer for Hallmark Cards. In 1963, he married Diana Franklin, and together they had three children. After leaving Hallmark in 1977, Larry opened Higginsville Printing & Stationery and served the community as a local business owner for over 40 years. Larry's love for family and community was evident throughout his life. Although Larry and Diana went their separate ways in the early 1990s, they remained friends. Larry later entered into a relationship with Kathy Wahn, who became his companion until his passing. As an Eagle Scout, Larry enjoyed spending time at the lake, playing baseball and softball, and indulging in his favorite pastimes of dancing, fishing and playing darts. Larry and Kathy enjoyed visiting with their friends at Willis and Jeanne's and Zybisco's. Larry's passion for darts led him to manage many dart leagues over the years. Larry is survived by his son, Tom (Carman) Duvall of Fort Lauderdale, FL; daughters, Tracy Rompf of Higginsville and Nita (Andy) Starner of Higginsville; seven grandchildren, Nichole (Cody) Meyers, Alex (Hannah) Duvall, Max (Emma) Rompf, Benjamin (Jenna Kimbrell) Duvall, Hayley Starner, Caroline Duvall, and Rachel Starner; two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Lillian; his longtime companion, Kathy Wahn, and her sons and family, Michael (Jennifer) Wahn and Dylan, Kenzie, and Jayden Wahn of Higginsville; Brett Wahn (Morgan Mieser) of Concordia, MO, and Trenton, Brayden, and Arianna Wahn. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Beverlee) Duvall of Independence and Mike (Louise) Duvall of Lexington, MO. A graveside service will be held on November 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Higginsville City Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Evelyn Elmore.
