Linda K. Russell

Linda K. Russell, age 60 of Concordia, Missouri, formerly of Higginsville, Missouri died on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at her home. Born Sunday, December 4, 1949 in Pueblo, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer Asmussen & Melba Louise Matlock Asmussen. She married Tommy Russell April 29, 2007. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville. Linda helped with the Red Cross Blood Drive at the Higginsville Habilitation Center, was a member of the Higginsville Husker Booster Club, and was a 1968 graduate of Concordia High School. She worked as a Dental Assistant at the Higginsville Habilitation Center, retiring in 2008 & Linda also worked at Buck's Country Mart. Preceded in death are her parents and two sisters, Melba Sassman & Ann Thornton. Surviving are her husband, Tommy of the home; son, Eric Schnakenberg of Higginsville; three daughters, Jennifer (David) Paris of Aurora, Colorado, Monica Leary of Smithville, Missouri, Heather (Bill) Mills of Olathe, Kansas; three step daughters, Aubree (Garrett) Thouvenel of Versailles, Missouri, Amber (Jason) Franklin of Edwards, Missouri, Casey (Marsh) Rogers of Laurie, Missouri; three brothers, Jim Barrett of Collins, Missouri, Earl (Betty) Asmussen of Chillicothe, Missouri, Larry Asmussen of Concordia; two sisters, Sue (Larry) Pennington of Blue Springs, Missouri, Edith (George) Pitts of Peculiar, Missouri; 11 grand children, Lauren Clifton, Julie Franklin, Ashley Paris, Jordan Schnakenberg, Ryan Franklin, Jae Schnakenberg, Tatum Schnakenberg, Delani Leary, Chase Mills, Maycee Thouvenel, Jaxson Leary. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 1501 Lipper St. Higginsville with the Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating, & Marilyn Boeschen, organist. Inurnment at a later date in City Cemetery, Higginsville. The family will receive friends after 7:00 P.M. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
