Marcella Vaughn

Marcella Ann Vaughn, 82 of Kansas City, Missouri went to heaven on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was born Saturday, January 16, 1943 in Higginsville, Missouri, to John and Bernice (Corson) Kelly. She graduated from Higginsville High School. She moved to Kansas City where she met and later married Robert Neil Vaughn on July 3, 1965. They were married for 44 years and blessed with 3 children, James, John and Kelly. Marcella worked at Hallmark Cards for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker and caring for her children. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts and quilting. She was devoted to helping others & volunteering when she could. She would assist in serving meals to veterans. She helped senior citizens through a church group called the Jolly 60's for many years. Church, faith, and God were very important to her as well. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Kansas City where she enjoyed participating in the women's group. She was very faithful and made it a huge priority to serve her Lord. Marcella loved her family dearly and enjoyed Sunday dinners, cooking for events and spending quality time with loved ones. Marcella's smile and shining personality will be missed by all who knew her. She was sassy, classy and loved to laugh. Surviving are two sons, James Vaughn of Independence, MO, John (Sharise) Vaughn of Raytown, MO; one daughter, Kelly (David) Hellums of Raytown; two grandchildren, Garrett Vaughn and Abigail (Bryan) Vaughn-Carranza. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Vaughn; two brothers, Gary Kelly, Tom Kelly; two sisters, Bernadine Kelly and Mathelda Kelly. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 9020 E. 51st Ter. Kansas City, Missouri 64133. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM following the visitation with Father Bryan Amthor officiating. The Rite of Committal will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO where she'll be laid to rest with her husband for eternity.
