Marjorie Jane Russell

Marjorie Jane Russell, age 80 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri. Born Monday, November 26, 1934 in Higginsville, she was the daughter of the late Henry Louis Buck and the late Ella Marie (Meyer) Buck. Marge and her husband Tom Russell were united in marriage November 15, 1953 . Marge's parents started Buck's Supermarket in 1937 and she and Tom joined them in 1959 when they moved to Higginsville and raised their family. They continued the business until Tom's death on February 29, 2000. At that time, Marge continued the business with the help of her son and daughters until moving to the Lutheran Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia, Missouri in 2014. Well liked and respected members of the community, she and her family have made numerous contributions to community activities. Marge was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving are one son, Tommy Russell of Concordia, Missouri; three daughters, Susan (Kevin) Thurmon of Higginsville; Diane (Cody) Schuette of Blackburn, Missouri, Becky (David) Mahnken of Corder, Missouri; 11 grand children, Joe Thurmon, Micah (Erin) Thurmon, Aubree (Garrett) Thouvenel, Amber (Jason) Franklin, Casey Russell (Geno Rushing), Luke (Jennifer) Mahnken, Maria (Jake) Goetz, Zach Mahnken (Tera Zimmerschied), Abbie Mahnken, Hannah Schuette and Maddi Schuette; and six great-grandchildren, Julie Franklin, Ryan Franklin, Maycee Thouvenel, Jaydee Thouvenel, Noah Mahnken and Joel Mahnken. A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1501 Lipper St. Higginsville with Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating and Donna Owens as organist. Interment will be in the Higginsville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
