Susan Drury

Susan Lynn (Mansfield) Drury, 61, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. She was born on July 14, 1963, to Larry Mansfield Sr. and Gloria Lincicome, formerly Mansfield, while her father was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. Susan grew up in Oak Grove, Missouri, and graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1981. While in high school, Susan met James "Jim" Drury Sr. and they were united in marriage on March 12, 1982. Susan, Jim, and their children moved to Higginsville in 1997. While her children were young, she was a stay at home mom. Then, she found her passion for being a school bus driver for Lafayette County C-1 School District. She took great pride in ensuring all of her students had a safe trip each day. When she was not driving a school bus, her hobbies included crafting and reading. She also never minded having a good debate. She and her husband both enjoyed being Hunter Safety Course Instructors for the Missouri Department of Conservation in the early years of their marriage. Surviving are, her husband of the home; one daughter, Miranda (Earl) Fiene of Higginsville; four sons, Michael (Montana) Drury, of Marshfield, MO, Jeffrey (Erin) Drury of Higginsville, Jacob (Leann) Drury of Higginsville, and Joshua (Cheyenne) Drury of Higginsville; nine grandchildren, Renee, Natalie, Alexandria, Paisley D, Paisley M, Maddison, Oaklynn, Bourbon, and Ryder; two brothers, Rick (Lynne) Mansfield of Galena, MO, Larry Mansfield Jr. of Bowling Green MO; her mother of Oak Grove; along with many other extended family members and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her father and brother, John Edward Mansfield. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home, 1600 Main St. Higginsville, Missouri. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Evelyn Elmore officiating. Interment will be in the City Cemetery. Casket Bearers: Michael Drury, Jeffrey Drury, Jacob Drury, Joshua Drury, Earl Fiene, Rick Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital.
