Bernard "Barney" Miller, 62, of Higginsville, Missouri died on Friday, September 28, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Born Monday, February 13, 1956 in Lexington, Missouri, he was the son of the late Elmer Miller and the late Virgie (Jordan) Miller. Barney lived all his life in Higginsville and was a 1974 graduate of Lafayette Co. -1 High School. He and Robin Williams were married June 28, 1975. He worked in the meat industry and most recently was proudly part of the management staff at Jack Stack BBQ. He was an active member of the Higginsville Masonic Lodge #364, the Ararat Shriners of Kansas City and also a member of the Lafayette County Shriners Club. Barney was a loving husband to his wife of 43 years, a devoted daddy to his daughter and a very proud and supportive Papa to his 3 grandchildren, Chase, Alexis and Britney. Surviving are his wife, Robin, of the home; one daughter, Misty (Greg) Looney of Higginsville, MO, two brothers, Ralph (Elke) Miller of Higginsville, MO and Michael (Teresa) Miller of Concordia, MO, two sisters, Martha Williams and Patricia McCoy, both of Higginsville, MO; and 3 grandchildren; Chase, Alexis and Britney. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Higginsville Masonic Lodge #364 located at 701 W. 22nd Street Higginsville, Missouri 64037. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Hoefer Funeral Home, 1600 Main St., Higginsville, Missouri. A private inurnment will be at a later date. Pallbearers are Jess Miller, Joe Amberson, Darrell Wegener, Rob Stevens, Travis Rechterman,and Greg Looney; Ralph Miller and Michael Miller serving as honorary pallbearers.
