Catherine Thaller

Catherine Elizabeth Thaller, 73 of Gladstone, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Missouri. She was born Monday, April 14, 1947 in Higginsville, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late William Thaller and the late Lillian (Mueller) Thaller. Catherine spent more than 30 years with her companion Louis E, Beugin Jr. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2018. Catherine grew up in Higginsville and graduated from Higginsville High School. She worked as a customer service representative for Kansas City Power and Light until her retirement. Catherine enjoyed social events with friends and family. She had several groups of friends that enjoyed casino nights together. She especially loved to travel to Las Vegas, going shopping and boating at the lake. She spent a lot of time at the Lake fishing and enjoying the company of friends and family. Catherine truly loved animals; she was known for spoiling her pets. Catherine will be remembered as a fun loving friend and Aunt. She will be missed greatly by all who came to know her. Surviving are her beloved cat, Shorty; one brother, James (Renna) Thaller of Higginsville; two sisters, Ann (Darl) Mattson of Higginsville, Helena (Charles) Thies of Atchison, KS; 10 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her long-time companion Louis E. Beugin Jr., three brothers, Raymond Thaller, Leo Thaller, and Robert Thaller; and one sister, Joan Thaller. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Hoefer Funeral Home located at 1600 Main St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037 with Pastor Betty Thaller officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Higginsville. Casket Bearers: Daren Mattson, Blake Mattson, Brady Chapman, Derek Thaller, Jeff Thaller, Willie Thaller. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Hoefer Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Because of current health conditions, masks and social distancing are required.
