Dale E. Hilgedick, 83 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Meyer Care Center Born Monday, November 19, 1934 in Higginsville, Missouri, he was the son of the late Roy Hilgedick and the late Inez Knipmeyer Hilgedick. He married Betty Ann Walker on April 4, 1964 and she preceded him in death on November 1, 2010. He was a life long resident of Higginsville and graduated from Higginsville High School in 1954. He received his Bachelors Degree from Central Missouri State University in 1959. He served in the Army during 1957 as a Pvt-2nd Class. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and owned and operated Hilgedick Trucking for several years. He was an active member of the Higginsville Rotary Club. He is survived by his special friend Barbara Butler; brother-in- law Ben Lewis of Higginsville; two nieces, Margaret (Tim) Thurmon of Higginsville and Sara (Bob) Gibson of Higginsville; one nephew David (Kim) Lewis of Higginsville; great nieces and nephews, cousins; two aunts, Celia Knipmeyer and Celeste Culver. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Ann Hilgedick and one sister, Janet Lewis. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Cook officiating, Rev. Mary Biesemeyer assisting and Sharon Pragman organist.. Interment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Grace United Methodist Church. The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels.
