Eric Hartzell, 55 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at his residence. Born Tuesday, April 4, 1961 in Tempe , Arizona , he was the son of the late Ward Hartzell and the late Shirley Bulen Hartzell. He married Chere Burton-Hartzell on March 21, 1998 and she survives of the home. He was a hazmat driver for Burko Chemical Company in Denver, Colorado. He lived in Odessa, MO moving to Higginsville in 2004. He attended Grace United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife Chere; one son, Daniel Hartzell of Drexel, MO, one stepson, Geoffrey (Tiffany) Burton of Cameron, MO; two stepdaughters, Carrie Wells of Independence, MO and Christina (Joshua) Miller of Independence, MO; two brothers, Orville (Connie) Shields of Odessa, MO, Jerry Shields of Kansas City, MO; five sisters, Carolyn Roderick of Lee's Summit, MO, Kathryn (Dennis) Olson of Commerce City, CO, Joyce Tasatto of Warsaw, MO, Sarah (Dave) Carver of Buena Vista, CO, Eva (R.J.) Rhoads of Englewood, CO; nine grandchildren, Gabrielle Clark, Lucille Clark, Jesse Burton, Nathanial Burton, Daymeon Burton, Keith Nauman, Tristian Burton, Landon Kline and Jaxon Wells He is preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren; Nicholas Burton and Kitiara Weaver. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Cook officiating. Memorial contributions are to Family Choice.
