July 14, 1948 - October 8, 2012

Ethelene Hoover, age 64, of Higginsville, Missouri died on Monday, October 8, 2012, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, Missouri. Born Wednesday, July 14, 1948 in Wheatland, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late James Thames and Juanita Leonard Thames. She lived in the Higginsville area since 1982. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Higginsville and worked as a developmental assistant at the Higginsville Habilitation Center, retiring in 2010. She also worked at several area restaurants. She married Clayton L. Hoover on November 15, 1970. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Wanda Lackey, Wilma Belew, and Donna Beebe. Surviving are her husband, Clayton Hoover of the home; two sons, Ronnie Hoover of Warrensburg, MO and Randy (Cicily) Hoover of Concordia, MO,, one daughter, Loretta Wood of Clinton, MO, two sisters, Ruth (Robert) Jones of Osceola, MO and Mary Elaine Young of Deepwater, MO; 9 grand children, Anthony Hoover, Shawn Sheppard, Ashley O'Dell, Randi Poindexter, Austin Hoover, Alicisha Hoover, Clayton Julian, Erin Julian, McKenzie Hoover; and 2 great grand children, Carson Hoover and Beau O'Dell. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 12, 2012 at First Baptist Church located at 1907 Peach St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037 with the Dr. Greg Fine officiating. Jolene Vereecke, pianist, and Dennis Million, vocalist, will also participate in the service. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Pallbearers are Dwight Ritter, Kevin Rinne, Delman Mosher, Kenny Neal, Don Bartley and Bill Ruehter. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Johnson and Mike Johnson. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Lafayette County Cancer Coalition, P.O.
