Harold E. Green, Sr.

August 6, 1938 - August 1, 2013

Harold Eugene Green, Sr., age 74 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri. Born Saturday, August 6, 1938 in Concordia, Missouri he was the son of Jesse Allen Green and Blanch Livinia (Barker) Green. He married Beverly F. (McCulloch) Green on October 15, 1956. Mr. Green worked as an IP Inspector at General Motors, retiring in 1988. He also worked as a reserve police officer for the City of Higginsville for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. He lived most of his life in Higginsville where he enjoyed woodworking in his shop at his home as well as working on cars. He was also a musician in a band in years past, playing guitar and singing. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Higginsville, the Harvey J. Higgins Historical Society, UAW Local 31, and a charter member of Alliance For Retired Americans. Preceding him in death are his parents, and three brothers, Jesse Lee Green, Alfred Allen Green, and Marvin Green. Surviving are his wife, Beverly F. Green of the home; three sons, Harold E. Green, Jr. , Jesse Lee Green, Sr. (Rhonda K.), Jack R. (Angela) Green all of Higginsville; two daughters, Gail (Mike) Deamos, Jill R. Hayes both of Higginsville; two brothers, David Green of Freemont, California, Gerald (Diana) Green of Mexico, Missouri; three sisters, Louise Borgstadt of Higginsville, Marie (Merle) Zeih of Montserrat, Missouri, Shirley Rodekohr of Lexington, Missouri; 14 grand children, Gennifer Habana, Ashleah Danae Green, Harold Christopher Green, Nicole Hays, Melissa Herzberg, Dustin Deamos, Jesse Lee "J.J." Green, Jr. Joshua R. Green, Nicole I. Simmons, Brandon Lee Green, Allison K. Green, Zachary Green, Megan Green, Blake Hayes; and 10 great grand children. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church,1907 Peach St. Higginsville with Dr. Greg Fine officiating and Jerome Johnson as soloist.Interment will be in the Brand Cemetery, Higginsville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday at the church prior to the service. Contributions may be sent to Family Choice. Casketbearers are Chris Green, Dustin Deamos, Jesse Lee "J.J." Green, Jr., Joshua Green, Brandon Green and Zach Green.
