Helen L. Diestelkamp, age 86 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville. Born Tuesday, February 14, 1928 in Wellington, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Wesley H. Soendker and the late Mary E. (Baker) Soendker. She and William Kenneth White were united in marriage January 29, 1946. He preceded her in death October 13, 1964. She and Kenneth Diestelkamp were united in marriage July 14, 1979. He preceded her in death June 23, 2003. Also preceding her in death are two brothers, Wesley Soendker, Jr. and Delbert Soendker; one sister, Wahneta Bell; and one granddaughter, Kori Pozniak. She was a a homemaker and lived most of her life in Higginsville. She also was employed at Page's Drug Store, Thompson's Drug Store and then was employed at Western Electric in Lee's Summit until 1979. Helen was a member of the Higginsville American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Salem United Church of Christ. Surviving are one son, Keith White (companion Donna Vance) of Higginsville; two daughters, Gail (Eric) Kirchhoff of Higginsville, Chris (Terry) Scott of Ft. Worth, Texas; six brothers, Lawrence (Luetta) Soendker of Marshall, Missouri, Calvin (Jeanne) Soendker of Higginsville, Carl Soendker and Dennis (Monica) Soendker both of Lexington, Missouri, Robert Soendker (friend Pat Tunnell) and Larry (Linda) Soendker both of Mayview, Missouri; two sisters, Janice (Richard) Jenkins of Lee's Summit and Esther (Kenneth) Dieckmann of Napoleon, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, Brenton (Brittany) Scott, Cara Scott (Francisco Rostran), Jeremy (Heather) Kirchhoff, Caleb (Dani) Kirchhoff, Kristin Pozniak, Karli (Joel) Enderle, Kayli (Stephen) Wiseman; and 15 great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Brynlee & Laith Kirchhoff; Madison, Hunter, and Brooklyn Scott; Ella and Xander Rostran,; Jonah Pozniak, Emmitt, Ella and Abby Enderle; Henry and Walter Wiseman. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Salem United Church of Christ, 1500 N. Main St. Higginsville with Rev.Dr. Tommy L. Faris officiating and Sharon Pragman as organist.. Interment will be in the Higginsville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association. Pallbearers are Brenton Scott, Jeremy Kirchhoff, Caleb Kirchhoff, Francisco Rostran, Eric Kirchhoff, and Terry Scott.
