Joe Hostetter

May 19, 1945 - January 15, 2013

Joe Hostetter, age 67 of Lexington, Missouri, formerly of Higginsville, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri. Born Saturday, May 19, 1945 in Jefferson City, Missouri, he was the son of Joseph Maxwell Allen Hostetter and DorothyJ. (Schneider) Hostetter. He married Carolyn F. Conaway December 23, 1972. Mr. Hostetter worked as a lead driver for Sports Associated Trucking Company, retiring in 2006 and was also formerly the lead singer in the Country Chapperels. He lived most of his life in Higginsville, moving to Lexington in 2006. He served in the National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church in Higginsville. Preceded in death are his parents, one daughter, Debbie Sauble, and one grandson, Joseph William Sauble. Surviving are his wife, Carol F. Hostetter of Marshall, Missouri; one son, Douglas (Miranda) Hostetter of Independence, Missouri; two daughters, Yvonne (Ray) Reeves of Keokuk, Iowa and Nancy Noyes of Witchita, Kansas; two brothers, Stanley (Arlene) Hostetter of Edison, New Jersey and Paul (Sandy) Hostetter of Bridgeport, Texas; five sisters, Jean Butler of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Sandra (Wayne) Martin of Higginsville, Belinda (Ed) Spears of San Antonio, Texas, Beverly (Kevin) Kraft of Lexington, and Pauline (Herb) Graf of Higginsville; three grandchildren, Miranda Reeves, Rachell Reeves and Madison Noyes. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Hoefer Chapel,1600 Main St. Higginsville with Dr. Greg Fine officiating and Dennis Milton as vocalist. Interment will be in the Higginsville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. prior to the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be sent to Family Choice. Casketbearers are Bill Marshall, Junior Bosley, Bruce Bosley, Raymond Coslet, Vaughn Owens and Dennis Million. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Tracy and Vincent Thompson.
