Joyce Elaine Griffith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joyce Elaine Griffith (Meyer), 75 of Smithton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at her home. She was born Tuesday, July 23, 1946 in Marshall, Missouri, to the late Roy Meyer and the late Bernice (Gilmore) Meyer. She was a graduate of Higginsville High School - Class of 1964. Joyce attended the House of Heavilin Beauty College in Blue Springs, Missouri and worked as a hairdresser. She moved to Sedalia, Missouri in 1983 and married Delmar Griffith on February 17, 1985. They spent the next 37 years together. Joyce had a passion for home décor, DIY and all things related to her home and yard. It wasn’t uncommon to come home and find that she had pulled up all the flooring because it was time for something new or to come home and find all the walls repainted. She was a sports fans and loved rooting on her Kansas City Chiefs. Joyce loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandkids. She loved watching her children and grandchildren at sporting events and cheering them on. Family was everything to her and was always her first priority. Joyce will be sorely missed by all her friends and family that loved her so much. Surviving are husband, Delmar of the home; one son, Darin (Robin) Stoll of Smithton; one daughter, Lisa (Marvin) Darrah of Mount Olive, MO; one brother, Jim (Karen) Meyer of Montana; two sisters, Brenda Schneider of Corder, MO and Jeanette (David) Dobson of Dover, MO; seven grandchildren, Mason Stoll, Megan, Michael Bacon, Brandon (Alexa) Bacon, Matthew (Amberly) Darrah, Johnathon (Amanda) Darrah; two great-grandchildren, Aria Bacon, Emmy Bacon. She is preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Grace United Methodist Church located at 16 W. 15th St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037. Interment will follow in the Higginsville City Cemetery. Casket Bearers: Mason Stoll, Megan Stoll, Michael Bacon, Brandon Bacon, Matthew Darrah, Johnathon Darrah.
