Lester Lefman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lester Lefman, 92, of Kansas City, MO passed away on October 15, 2021. Lester was born March 1, 1929 in Corder, MO and was the fifth child of Oscar and Meta (Minershagen) Lefman. He joined the Air Force after attending high school and served for 4 years before returning to Higginsville. Lester was a carpenter for 60 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He was a proud lifetime member of the American Legion. Lester was one of the finest men you could ever meet and will be dearly missed. Lester is survived by his wife Gertie Lefman of the home; one son Gary (Alicia) Lefman; three step-children, Pat (Charlie) Westmoreland, Linda (Steve) Wilber, Cheryl Scott; four granddaughters, Hollie (Randall) Medlin, Airyanne (Jacob) DeLisle, Sayla Steele, Halie Lefman; and 14 step-grandchildren. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sister, first wife Elaine (Crane) Lefman, his daughter Renee Steele, a step-daughter Pam Cole, and one step-son, Jerry Scott. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Higginsville City Cemetery with a memorial service at the Oakwood Baptist Church at 2:00 PM located at 7600 Lee's Summit Rd. Kansas City, Missouri 64139 Charitable contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Higginsville American Legion.
