Mary Ann Walker

August 5, 1945 - October 12, 2013

Mary Ann Walker, age 68 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at her home. Born Sunday, August 5, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri she was the daughter of the late Leslie Leroy Randolph and Alice Julia Davis Randolph. She married Gilbert E. Walker on August 5, 1975. Mrs. Walker was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln High School located in Kansas City, Missouri. She lived in Higginsville the past 22 years and worked as a LPN nurse 14 years at Meyer Care Center located in Higginsville, Lafayette Regional Health Center located in Lexington and then at the Odessa Medical Clinic, retiring in 2004. She was a member of Holbert Chapel C.M.E. Church in Warrensburg, Missouri. Preceding her in death are one brother, Lawrence Brown, Jr. and one sister, Rose Lee Flemming. Surviving are her husband, Gilbert E. Walker of the home in Higginsville; two sons, Gilbert E. (Dana) Walker II of Blue Springs, Missouri, Robert H. Taylor II of Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Alicia D. Walker of Kansas City, Missouri; Michelle D. Walker (Rodney Green, husband) of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Robert (Linda) Randolph of Kansas City, Missouri, Bertrand (Sheila) Randolph of Panama City Beach, Florida; two sisters, Everlean Brown of Kansas City, Missouri, Emma Lee Howell of Richmond, California; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's C.M.E. Church, 1625 E. Main St. Richmond, Missouri with Rev. Ernest Jones officiating, Arlene Buford organist, Wendell Haynes pianist, and Evelyn Elmore, St. James A.M.E. Church Choir, an Julius Ward as vocalists. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery, 6901 Troost Ave. Kansas City, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Casketbearers are family members.
