Patty Lashure

September 9, 1943 - September 5, 2020

Patricia "Patty" Lucille Lashure (Goetz), 76 of Higginsville, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at her home in Higginsville. She was born Thursday, September 9, 1943 in Corder, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Raymond Goetz and the late Lucille Goetz (Fahrmeier). Patty married Louis Lashure on October 10, 1985, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2020. They were married 34 wonderful years. Patty grew up in Corder, Missouri where she was a graduate of Corder High School - class of 1961. She worked as a data entry clerk for the Higginsville Habilitation Center for 35 years until her retirement. Patty enjoyed traveling with Lou; they took many trips all over the U.S. She equally enjoyed her girls' trips with friends and family. Family gatherings were so important to her. Patty loved music. So much so, that she had a piano and an organ in her home. She was an active member of Central Christian Church and a past church organist for many years. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. Patty admired her husband Lou for his passion to play Santa for the children of Lafayette County. She loved standing next to Lou as Mrs. Santa every year for all the kids. This gave Patty and Lou great joy to see all the children smile with excitement at Christmas time. Patty was known to be overly prepared and very organized. Working in clerical all her life leaked into her personal life. She filed everything and could find any owner's manual for anything she purchased. Her cabinets were just as prepared and organized. It was never a rare sight to see 7 bottles of mustard or 7 cans of Febreze air freshener in the closet with plenty of toilet paper. Patty lived a simple yet full life, and was always content and happy. Family was always the most important thing to her and she will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Surviving are one son, Douglas Brockert of Higginsville; two sisters, Sherry (Larry) Heaper of Higginsville, Leonna (Michael) Hoefer of Higginsville; one step-son, Louis Mark Lashure of Idaho; two step-daughters, Suzanne Wagstaff of Utah, Michelle Lashure of Florida; one daughter-in-law, Lorrie Piercy of Odessa, Missouri; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lou; one son, Michael Brockert; one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, and two grandchildren. A private funeral service will be held at Central Christian Church with Rev. Jerry Basye officiating. Private interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Casket bearers: Doug Brockert, David Heaper, Leonard Goetz, Kenneth Goetz. Honorary casket bearers: Larry Heaper, Michael Hoefer, Kody Brocket.
