Russell F. Stoecker, age 81 of Raytown, Missouri, formerly of Grandview, Missouri died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown. Born Sunday, June 2, 1929 in Grand Pass, Missouri, he was the son of Augusta Stoecker & Eleanor Buhlig Stoecker. Russell worked as a meat cutter at Kroger's & Safeway supermarkets until his retirement in 1984. He lived most of his life in Grandview, moving to Raytown in 2009. He was a 1948 graduate of Higginsville High School and a member of National Order of Foresters. Preceded in death are his parents, and two sisters, Roberta Raney & Laverne Campbell. Surviving are daughters, Cheryl Shick of Trimble, Missouri, Carol (Billy) Lyston of Godfrey, Illinois, & Linda Stoecker of Raytown; two grandchildren, Carrie Hilton & Christian Stoecker; one great granddaughter, Jordyn Hilton. A Graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at City Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri with Speaker Linda Stoecker officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. on Saturday at Hoefer Funeral Home, 1600 Main St., Higginsville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial to Kansas City Hospice.
