Terry Kopp Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Terry Kenneth Kopp, 65 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri. He was born Monday, January 7, 1957 in Lexington, to the late Donald Kopp and the late Dorothy (Smith) Kopp. Terry was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute in Ontario, Canada. He married Robin (Barker) Kopp on June 20, 1981, and they were married 41 years. Terry enjoyed firearms and maintaining them. In his younger years he had his own gunsmith shop in Lexington where he built, cleaned and repaired all types of firearms. Terry loved the food industry and all aspects of entrepreneurial food work. He took pride in the restaurants he owned and helped operate over the years. He reopened Betty’s Restaurant in Blue Springs, MO and had a BBQ food truck that he took to the American Royal every year. He helped start and operate restaurants in Independence, Raytown, Knobtown and Sweet Springs. Terry enjoyed HAM radio operation, photography and playing his guitar. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Robin of the home; one son, Thomas Kopp of Lexington; one daughter, Tonya Kopp of Higginsville; two grandchildren, Logan Kopp and Wyatt Pitts. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home 1600 Main St. Higginsville, Missouri. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with interment in the Higginsville City Cemetery. Casket Bearers: Dennis King, Thomas Kopp, Brian Palmer, Tyler Pitts, Dennis Valentine, Steve Zumalt. Memorial contributions may be made out to the family to help with medical and funeral expenses.
