Viola E. Hoeppner

Viola E. (Haesemeyer) Hoeppner, age 93, of Higginsville, Missouri, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville. She was also a former member of the Friendly Neighbors Club, the Women's Guild of the Church and member of the Young At Heart Club. She was born June 19, 1916 in Emma, Missouri, the daughter of the late Adolph Haesemeyer and the late Ida (Stumpenhaus) Haesemeyer. She was a homemaker, and home care giver for over 20 years, retiring in 1982. She moved to Higginsville from Corder, Missouri in 1965. She married Lawrence H. Hoeppner June 26, 1934. He preceded her in death September 20, 1984. Also preceded in death are her parents; her step father; two brothers Lorenz Haesemeyer and Hubert Haesemeyer; two sisters Marvel Forsha and Olga Mahnken; two grandsons; one great grandson and two sons-in-law. She is survived by her five daughters, Jean Rogers-Giblin and husband Jim of Anacortes, Washington; Kay Rolan of Gladstone, Missouri; Gayle Joiner of Olathe, Kansas; Nyla Hoeppner and companion Bill Austin of Independence, Missouri; Ruth Bellmer and husband David of Georgetown, Texas; one son, Larry Hoeppner and wife Teresa of Higginsville; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Hoefer Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2009. Funeral service will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM Friday, October 30, 2009 , with Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating and Marilyn Boeschen, organist. Interment will be at City Cemetery. Pallbearers include grandsons of Viola.The family suggests Memorials to Immnuel Lutheran School or Immanuel Basement Accessibility Fund.
