Frankie Crawford

Frankie Washington Crawford, 90 of Corder, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Lutheran Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia, Missouri. He was born Thursday, August 25, 1932 in Preston, Missouri, to the late Benjamin Crawford and the late Mary (Nelson) Crawford. Frankie grew up in the Preston area, moved to Marshall, Missouri for a while but spent most of his life in Corder. He was drafted into the United States Army and married Mary (Fizer) Crawford after his service on January 9, 1955. They spent 57 years together until she preceded him in death on November 24, 2012. Frankie began working for the Missouri Department of Transportation in the 1960’s and put in 30+ years. He farmed most all his life helping local families. He was a talented carpenter and spent time rehabbing and remodeling homes. Frankie was an active man and liked to stay busy. He always had a project or activity he was working on. He loved to be outdoors. Frankie was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and loved mowing the grass just to stay busy. Frankie took his children and all their friends camping often. His children have fond memories of all the neighborhood kids tagging along on the camping trips. He was a faithful and active member of the Corder Baptist Church and attended the Concordia Baptist Church. Frankie was a caring husband, a loving father, and a great friend. He will be missed greatly by everyone who came to know him. Surviving are two sons, Danny (Jackie) Crawford of Concordia, MO and Randy (Lutecia) Crawford of Corder, MO; 7 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; one brother, Charles Crawford; and two sisters, Frances Southard and Hazel Nasalroad. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Concordia Baptist Church, 406 W. 1st St. Concordia, Missouri. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the church with Rev. Sam Anderson and Rev. Josh Payne officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Calvary Cemetery, Corder, MO. Casket Bearers: Darrel Crawford, Daniel Crawford, Tanner Crawford, Matt Brewer, Christopher Neal, Michael Neal. Memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary Cemetery or Concordia Baptist Church or Lutheran Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
