Ken Marsh

Kenneth LeRoy Marsh, 81 of Higginsville, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born Wednesday, November 27, 1940 in Concordia, Missouri, and was the son of the late Russell Marsh and the late Addie (Bray) Marsh. He was the loving husband of Janet Marsh (Smith), and they were blessed to spend 20 wonderful years together. Ken enlisted into the United States Army at the age of 21 and served his country proudly from 1960 to 1963 at Fort Carson, Colorado. After returning home, he worked as a row crop and hog farmer. He loved farming and did it all his life. Ken enjoyed being busy, he was very handy and always had a project he was working on. His hobbies included camping, hiking, woodworking, and building furniture. Ken enjoyed flying and had his pilot’s license. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Higginsville. Ken will be greatly missed by all the friends and family that loved him so much. Surviving are his wife, Janet of the home; two sons, Michael Sloan-Marsh of Oklahoma and Daniel Marsh of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Georgia Griffith of Sedalia, MO and Rose Pritchett of Warrensburg, MO; three step-sons, Mike (Kelly) Ellerman of Higginsville, David (Lisa) Ellerman of Blue Springs, MO, Chris (Holly) Ellerman of Wellington, MO; one step-daughter, Amy (Jesse) Gant of Richmond, MO; two brothers, Leland Marsh of Warrensburg, Donald (Margorie) Marsh of Higginsville; one sister in law, Mary Marsh of Warrensburg; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly as well as multiple grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Gene Marsh, Glen Marsh and Dale Marsh. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 1907 Peach St., Higginsville, Missouri. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Dr. Greg Fine officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery located south of Higginsville. Casket Bearers: Michael Ellerman, Jesse Gant, Seth Gant, Joshua Ellerman, Daniel Marsh. Memorial contributions may be made out to First Baptist Church.
