Martha Kisner

Martha Kisner (Lynn), 89 of Corder, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in Corder. She was born Sunday, April 19, 1936 in Waverly, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Herbert Lynn and the late Flora (Ford) Lynn. She married Russell Kisner on March 23, 1953. Martha grew up in Corder/Waverly areas and attended school in Corder. She was a cook for the Corder Elementary School where her children attended. She was a housewife and cared for her husband and children. When her children were older she worked as a cook for the Higginsville Habilitation Center, retiring after 20+ years of service. Family was very important to Martha. She was a den leader for her sons when they were in Cub Scouts. She held Sunday lunch for the whole family her entire life until covid-19 hit. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Church was a big part of Martha's life. She was an active member of Corder Baptist Church and attended services her entire life. In her free time, she enjoyed flowers and caring for her flower beds. Watching the birds brought her peace. She hung feeders around her property so she could see them. Martha was a talented artist and created many paintings. She was a social woman and enjoyed conversation with friends. She would talk to anybody and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are four children all of Corder, Rusty Kisner, Richard Kisner, Bill Kisner, Jean (Vic) Gerken, one sister, Gloria Schlon of Odin, MN; four grandchildren; Aaron (Julie) Kisner, Kevin Gerken, Brian Gerken, Chris Gerken; and 3 great-grandchildren, Lakin, Brianna, and Maeve Kisner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; two brothers, Donald Lynn, Herbie Lynn; and one sister, Eunice Gilliland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Corder Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Vanlanker officiating. Burial will be held in the Corder Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers: Wayne Gassen, Brian Gerken, Chris Gerken, Kevin Gerken, Rick Goring, Aaron Kisner. The family suggests memorials to the Corder Baptist Church, Calvary Cemetery, or ACG Hospice.
