Mary Sue Minks

Mary Sue Minks, age 75 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at her home. Born Monday, September 27, 1937 in Higginsville, she was the daughter of Heuby Moore and Lydia (Sanders) Moore. She married Curtis L. Minks August 7, 1957, celebrating 55 years together. Mrs. Minks was a lifelong resident of Higginsville and was a 1955 graduate of Higginsville High School. She worked as co-manager at Camelot Inn from 1970-2002 when she retired. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the Mary Martha Circle and was a former member of Walther League of the church. . She was a former member of the Higginsville Jaycee Wives and bowled on many women's bowling leagues She loved to play bingo and was an avid MU Tiger and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Preceded in death are her parents, three brothers, Julian Moore, Heuby Moore, Bob Moore; three sisters, Lucille McPherson, Marion Smith, Jerry Wise; and one grandson, Chad Summers. Surviving are her husband, Curtis Minks of the home, one son, Jeff Minks of Columbia, Missouri; three daughters, Bobbi (Johnnie) Summers of Higginsville, Cherie Minks of Peculiar, Missouri and Jennifer (Richard) Clayton of Concordia, Missouri; one brother, Kenny (Bonnie) Moore of Higginsville; three grandchildren, Stephanie Hodges, Jarrod Summers, Jaxson Clayton; five great grandchildren, Blake Clark, Collyn Smith, Alexis Summers, Ashton & Addison Summers; and one great great granddaughter, Paisley Clark. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1501 Lipper St. Higginsville with Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating and Donna Owens as organist. Interment will be in the City Cemetery, Higginsville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service. The Family suggests Memorial contributions to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Basement Fund.
